More than $150,000 has been raised for a Burger King employee who has never missed a day of work in 27 years.

Employee of the month? More like the decade.

The GoFundMe was launched by the employee's daughter, Seryna, who praised her single dad, Kevin Ford, for putting her and her siblings through school and college with his perfect attendance.

She wrote in the description: “He has worked at his job for 27 years and yes, he has never missed a day of work.

"He originally began working at this job as a single father when he gained custody of me and my older sister 27 years ago.

“Then as our family grew and he remarried, he continue to work here because of the amazing health insurance that was provided through this employer because it was unionised.”

She added: “My dad continues to work here, because though he does look young, he is coming up on retirement age and leaving would cost him his retirement.

“In no way are we asking for money or is he expecting any money but if anyone feels like blessing him he would love to visit his grandchildren.”

As donations began pouring in, one of them belonged to former SNL star David Spade, who became the top donor, giving $5,000 (AUD $7,213 or £2,829), according to TMZ.

That donation has now been topped by a person called Scott Dawson, who pledged $5,200 to the fundraiser.

The monetary goal has continually been increased as the donations poured in. The goal was at $150,000 over the weekend and it's now reached $153,858 at the time of writing.

Sernya launched the GoFundMe after a video of her father receiving a goodie bag from the fast-food franchise went viral on TikTok.

While the father of four gracelessly accepted his prize, many users criticised his workplace for the underwhelming present.

One person wrote: “Did they really only give him ONE movie ticket tho??”

Another person said: “I’m glad that he got 50k from the GoFundMe. That gift is shameful and he’s so grateful.”

While a third person commented: “This is so wrong on so many levels. Give him a week off with pay so he can visit his grandchildren. Just Wow.”

While appearing on NewsNationNow, Ford disclosed that he was ‘overwhelmed’ by the support from the public and the number of donations rolling in.

“The generosity of these people is just overwhelming," he said.

"I've been crying for three days now. I can't believe it. I really can't."

He added: “Thank you for everything, everyone; I love you.”

It’s safe to say with the amount of money Ford is receiving, he’ll be able to purchase more than just one movie ticket, perhaps even a home theatre.
